Jack Halfon is a landscape photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa.Jack Halfon has also had a successful career in Micro Finance, building one of South Africa most notable Micro Finance companies Atlas Finance.
From documenting landscapes featuring direct human interactions to exploring ideas of place, Jack Halfon’s work primarily investigates our ever-changing relationship with the environment. Within these themes, he looks for scenes that visually activate their surroundings in strangely compelling ways, fortuitously photogenic environments that he carefully documents the people rather than photographically exaggerates the surroundings.
Jack Halfon’s work has been noticed by both local publishers where the book Faces and Places has been published to showcase some of Jack Halfon’s most emotional pieces. Jack Halfon’s work has been cherished around the world and has adorned some of the walls of the most distinguished houses from Zimbabwe to New York.
To help alleviate the harsh conditions on a local level, Jack Halfon has pledged the proceeds of Faces and Places to Stop Hunger Now South Africa, among other worthy charities.
